Introduction
As oil fields mature, secondary recovery methods such as Thermal and Water floods become necessary to enhance
production. With time, the water cut continues to increase well above 80%. Net oil measurement is critical
in high water cut fields. Existing technology struggles to accurately measure high water cut ranges and provide
the data required for reservoir and well analysis.
High water cut has always been measured using a 0–100% cut probe. Many technologies claim an accuracy of ±2%.
With a 90% water cut and 2% accuracy, the net oil can be off by ~20%; at 95% it can be off by ~40%.
With over 20 years of validation and well testing experience, we develop systems to address the need for an
accurate Net Oil Metering System (NOMS). Accurate net oil measurement is where the focus needs to be made,
not on water cut.
Net Oil Metering System II
NOMS-II uses a Two-Phase Gas-Liquid Cylindrical Cyclone Separator (GLCC) in areas with free gas and steam slugs.
This technology has been developed and proven efficient for separation of two-phase flow.
This skid system consists of the following:
- 12" OD x 93" S.S, ASME 2019 Edition, Section 8, Div1, Vertical GLCC – Rated for 63 Bar @204C.
- E+H DP Level Transmitter with 2" 600# chemical seals and capillary.
- E+H Q Series 2" Coriolis meter.
- E+H Prowirl 200 Series 1" Vortex meter.
- Automated Sample Receiving System capable of collecting up to six 1500ml composite samples.
- Up to six well tests per day.
- Rockwell MicroLogix PLC interfacing with customer SCADA.
- Red Lion Data Logger / web server communication for results.
- 2" Isokinetic Sampling System and Static mixer.
- 2" inlet/outlet/bypass ESD valves automated with electric actuators.
- 600# or 900# ANSI flanges, valves and meters.
- System includes leveling jacks.
- System sandblasted and painted with 3-part zinc oxide epoxy paint.
